The story of One Way started three years ago, in Pasadena (USA), while spending a weekend with a friend who gives Joe a pizza treat. Apparently, it was not just any pizza, but a sourdough pizza.
For the so called Surfer Joe, it was the best tasting pizza he had in sixty years! Thus, when he went back to the Philippines, Joe wanted to re-create the taste of the pizza he had in Pasadena.
Then came Chef Harold — the person whom Joe boasts as the Gem of One Way restaurant.
Chef Harold, as Joe says, makes classy steaks as well as great tasting salads, soups, risotto and mussels. Joe then challenged Chef Harold to recreate the sourdough pizza he had in Pasadena.
The result astounded Joe so much that One Way restaurant was born!
It has been a year since the creation of One Way restaurant. Surfer Joe collects all his customers’ pictures while they eat and delight in One Way’s food and service. Joe reveals that he has already 32,951 photos on his phone as of press time.
A second One Way outlet is in the making. This will be at Rockwell, where Joe said that they were invited by the management themselves. He intimated that it takes at least 2-4 years before one is given a slot in that exclusive enclave.
One Way’s biggest customers are expats who are mostly Japanese and Indians. Many have come to know about One Way through word of mouth and through features in blogs and restaurant apps. In fact, Trip Advisor ranks the restaurant number one among contemporary restaurants in Makati City. No wonder the place packs-in even celebrities and corporate bigwigs.
Below is a sampling of the various cuisine Surfer Joe served the Foodfindsasia.com crew:

Refreshing! You should taste this with their chili oil. Definitely one of the best Pizzas I have tasted.

Best Mussels! Imported from Chile for the finest taste. It is served with multigrain sourdough bread

Once served you must eat it quickly! You don’t want your soup be cold and absorb because it is served in their sourdough bread.

Surfer Joe’s burger tasted with their own Victoria Secret Mustard, 100% 180 grams of Angus beef with bacon, mushroom and cheddar cheese and with salad on the sides.

A French main course, braised chicken for 1 and a half to 2 hours to make it tender served with pilaf rice and green tea puree . Best served with the Herb Shake

Mixed lettuce, watermelon, grapes sun-dried tomatoes walnuts with citrus balsamic dressing. Definitely a knock out.

Comes with different flavors, gravlax, pumpernickel bread, herring, shrimp cocktail, Jamon Serrano, pastrami, chef’s pate. At first you don’t want to ruin the beautiful arrangement yet you’ll discover it’s better when you’re experiencing it.

It was brought to life by an accident. Best served after a platter or steak for its refreshing taste, preparing you for another round of food delight.

I never heard of a restaurant who serves both hot and cold desserts. Definitely a must try!
Every plate is for 2-3 persons, so you have to go there with a friend.
